Based on the popularity of the Motorcycle Kickstart Classic rides in the past the teams at American Iron Magazine and Motorcycle Rides & Culture will be putting on two rides for 2015. The first vintage motorcycle ride, the end of May 2015, will be a two day event in and around the area of Maggie Valley, NC, and based at the Wheels Through Time museum.
The second Motorcycle Kickstart Classic ride is being planned for August 20-23, starting at the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa, IA and ending at the Harley museum in Milwaukee on Saturday, August 23. More details are still being finalized.
The Motorcycle Kickstart Classic is a fun riding event and is open to riders of all makes, models and years of motorcycles. All riders with newer motorcycles (electric start only) have to ride at the back to pick up any parts that fall off the older bikes up front. The goal is to have fun and share our machines, experiences and skills with other fellow classic motorcycle enthusiasts.
Unlike some other organized classic motorcycle rides, we have basically only two rules for the riders and support: The first is to be safe, and the other is to have fun.
The Maggie Valley event starts with a welcome reception dinner for all registered riders at Wheels Through Time museum the afternoon and evening of Thursday, May 28th. Organized vintage motorcycle rides will be held Friday, May 29th and Saturday, May 30th.
Unlike past events, this year we will have a number of planned local rides starting and ending in Maggie Valley every afternoon. The many route choices are all exceptional roads for riding and enjoying classic motorcycles.
Sponsors of this classic motorcycle ride include: American Iron Magazine, Motorcycle Rides & Culture, Classic American Iron forum.
Registration is $100 per person (rider, passenger and support) which includes admission to the museum each day, reception dinner, event shirt and more. Registration will open the middle of February.
